Dr. Venkatraman graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in Neuroscience and received his M.D. degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. He then completed a medical internship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and further went to serve as resident and chief resident at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Subsequent to that, he completed a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the Drexel University School of Medicine with both EEG and EMG focus where he had the opportunity to extensively participate in the management of Neuromuscular disorders in addition to excellent exposure in epilepsy.
He has since been in practice for more than 12 years largely in affiliation with Barnabas Health here in Livingston. He is academically accomplished with multiple publications in the field of neurology including authoring a textbook chapter. He has given numerous lectures and community awareness talks. In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (honorary), he has received multiple awards and accolades including but not limited to New Jersey Magazine top docs, 2019, 2020 and 2021. When not working, Dr. Venkatraman enjoys spending time with his family and martial arts. He also enjoys his annual charity clinic in India and community stroke awareness/education camps here in New Jersey.
